Smarturns works with most gas and electric stoves that use physical knobs to control the burners. It is not compatible with cooktops that use touch controls. If you are unsure, simply send a photo of your stove to our support team and we will confirm before you purchase. If for any reason it is not compatible, you can return it for a full refund.

There are two knob types to suit different stove designs. Choose Horizontal if the knobs on your stove face upward toward the ceiling. Choose Vertical if the knobs face toward you when you are standing at the stove — including if they are slightly angled upward. If you are not sure, send a photo of your stove to our support team and we will advise you.

No. Smarturns works without internet or a mobile phone. Without internet, the hub operates as a local alarm — if the stove is left unattended for 5 minutes, an alert sounds in the home. Internet and a mobile phone are only needed if you want family members or carers to receive remote alerts on their smartphone.

No. The Smarturns App cannot control the stove remotely. The app is used to receive alerts if the stove has been accidentally left on, so that a family member or carer can then contact the person at home to turn it off.

No. Your loved one continues to use the stove exactly as they always have. Smarturns works silently in the background and only activates if the stove is accidentally left on and unattended.

If the internet drops, Smarturns continues to work normally as a local alarm in the home. The knobs and hub still detect if the stove has been left on and will sound an alert. The only thing that stops during an internet outage is the ability to send alerts to mobile phones.

Yes. The Smarturns app supports multiple locations. If your loved one has Smarturns installed and you are also monitoring another household, you can add both to the same app account.

The Smarturns knobs use a CR2032 coin battery which lasts approximately 4 years under normal use. The motion sensor uses AAA batteries which we recommend replacing every 6 months.

Each Smarturns kit comes with 4 knobs. If your stove has more than 4 burners, additional knobs can be purchased separately. Contact our local Australian support team to arrange this.
