A mobile phone designed for people with dementia

Dementia Australia estimates that more than 421,000 Australians live with dementia

Dementia is like a slow fading of the brain's abilities. It makes it harder to remember things, think clearly, make decisions, and even do everyday tasks. It's like a fog settling over someone's mind, making life more and more challenging. Despite the stereotype of dementia being something that older people get, it also affects younger Australians.

The memory and intellect loss associated with dementia can be hard for family members and carers to witness

Even harder is the knowledge that your loved one is forgetting some of the most important things in their life.
While the KISA Phone can’t stop dementia, it can assist with the symptoms and help your loved one to live independently for a little longer.

Designed in collaboration with Dementia Australia, the KISA Phone makes it simple for people with dementia to connect with family and friends

Large buttons with high contrast colours mean users can easily see and ‘read’ the phone. There are no confusing screens either, just a single press to make or receive a call without need to log in or navigate a menu.

Mobile and GPS - keeping people with dementia safe

With built-in GPS tracking on the KISA Phone, you’ll always know where your loved one is. This is particularly useful for people with a history of wandering or getting lost, like those with dementia. Pair GPS tracking with KISA’s SOS function; a large mechanical SOS button when activated will call emergency services and switch to the loud speaker mode The SOS Position Locator will send an SMS to a nominated contact with a link to the user’s GPS location, making it easy to rescue them and bring them back home safely.
